Toilet repairs
Toilet not flushing, won't stop running, leaking onto the floor or blocked? Broken toilets are the job we get called out to most. Our vans carry the common fill valves, flush mechanisms, siphons, seals and pan connectors, so most toilets are working again on the first visit.
Common toilet problems we fix
Toilet won't flush
Broken flush mechanism, split siphon diaphragm, snapped handle linkage, faulty push-button or a cistern not filling — diagnosed and replaced the same visit.
Toilet keeps running
Worn fill valve, float set wrong or a failed flush valve washer letting water past into the pan and up your water bill.
Toilet leaking
Leaks from the cistern, the pan connector or the base of the toilet. We trace it properly rather than sealing over it.
Weak or slow flush
Part-blocked rim jets, low cistern water level or a tired siphon — cleaned, adjusted or replaced and flow tested.
Blocked toilet
Plunged, augered and jetted where needed, then flow tested so it doesn't come straight back.
Wobbly or loose pan
Re-fixed, re-sealed and levelled so it stops rocking and leaking onto the floor.
New toilet fitted
Close coupled, back-to-wall and concealed cistern units supplied and fitted, old one taken away.

Toilet repair FAQs
How much does it cost to fix a toilet?
Most repairs are £120 inc VAT including the common parts. Blockages start at £105 inc VAT and a full supply-and-fit replacement starts at £295 inc VAT.
Can you come out today?
Usually yes for leaks and overflows — call 07791 178784 and we'll tell you the next free slot honestly.
Why is my toilet not flushing?
Nine times out of ten it's the flush mechanism: a split siphon diaphragm, a failed drop-valve washer, a broken handle or push-button linkage, or a cistern that isn't refilling because the fill valve has jammed. All are cheap parts we carry on the van, so a toilet that won't flush is usually fixed in under an hour.
My toilet won't flush but the cistern is full — what now?
That points at the flush mechanism rather than the water supply. Lift the cistern lid and watch the handle: if it moves freely with no resistance, the linkage or siphon has failed. Don't keep pumping it — call us and we'll swap the mechanism.
My toilet is leaking from the bottom — is it urgent?
Yes, get it looked at quickly. A leak at the base is usually the pan connector or a failed seal, and left alone it rots flooring and can come through a ceiling below. We re-seal and re-fix from £120 inc VAT.
My toilet keeps running — is that expensive?
No. It's almost always the fill valve or flush valve washer, both cheap parts we carry. It's worth fixing quickly because a running toilet can waste hundreds of litres a day on a water meter.
Do you supply the new toilet?
We can supply and fit, or fit one you've already bought. Either way we take the old one away.
Do you fix concealed cistern toilets?
Yes. Frame-mounted and back-to-wall units take longer because of the access panel, so we price those separately once we've seen it.
