Ferroli is an Italian brand fitted heavily in UK homes through the 2000s, particularly Modena, Optimax and Domina units. We still find plenty of them across the Black Country.
They earned a reputation for troublesome PCBs and diverter valves, and parts for the older ranges are now hard to source. We'll always check availability before we take money for a diagnostic on an older Ferroli.

What goes wrong with Ferroli boilers
PCB failure
The classic Ferroli issue. Boards for older ranges are increasingly hard to get.
Diverter valve sticking
Heating warm when you only want hot water, or lukewarm showers.
Ignition lockout
Gas supply, electrodes or condensate — same checks as any condensing boiler.
Pressure loss
Expansion vessel or a leak. We pressure-test rather than repeatedly topping up.

Current Bluehelix units are fine to repair. Older Modena, Optimax and Domina boilers are the ones where we most often advise replacement — you can spend £300 on a board and still have a fifteen-year-old boiler.
We replace Ferrolis with Worcester Bosch Greenstar or Viessmann Vitodens, with a full flush, magnetic filter and up to a 12-year guarantee.

Sometimes, but availability is genuinely poor on Modena and Optimax now. We'll check before you pay for a diagnostic so you don't waste money.
Is a Ferroli worth repairing?
If it's a cheap part on a newer unit, yes. If it's a PCB or heat exchanger on a 2000s Modena, replacement is almost always the better spend.
