Vaillant is one of the most common boilers we're called out to in the West Midlands, and generally a good one. The ecoTEC Plus in particular is a well-built German unit that will happily run fifteen years if it gets serviced and the system water is kept clean.
We repair and service every current Vaillant range. Where a Vaillant is past economical repair we'll say so plainly rather than selling you a part that only buys a few months — and we'll price both options so you can decide.

The mainstream combi and system range. Solid, parts widely available, well worth repairing.
ecoTEC Pro
The budget version. Shorter guarantee and a plastic-heavy build, but still repairable.
ecoTEC Exclusive
Top of the range with Green iQ. Excellent modulation, more expensive parts.
Turbomax / ecoMAX
Older pre-2005 units. Parts are drying up — usually a replacement candidate.
Common faults
What goes wrong with Vaillant boilers
F.28 — ignition failure
The boiler tried to light and failed. Usually gas supply, a dirty ignition electrode or a blocked condensate pipe in cold weather.
F.75 — pump / pressure sensor
No pressure rise detected on start-up. Typically a failed pressure sensor, a waterlogged expansion vessel or a sticking pump.
F.22 — low water pressure
System has dropped below about 0.5 bar. Top it up, but if it keeps falling you have a leak or a failed vessel.
F.62 / F.61 — gas valve faults
Gas valve shut-off delay or control fault. A genuine Vaillant valve plus setting up is the fix.
Lukewarm hot water
Almost always a scaled plate heat exchanger or a passing diverter valve — both very common on ecoTEC combis.

A Vaillant ecoTEC under about twelve years old is nearly always worth repairing — parts are readily available and the build quality justifies it. Pre-2008 Turbomax and ecoMAX units are usually better replaced.
If you do replace, we fit Worcester Bosch Greenstar and Viessmann Vitodens — both with up to a 12-year guarantee registered in your name.

Do you repair Vaillant boilers?
Yes. We repair, service and replace all current Vaillant ranges including ecoTEC Plus, Pro and Exclusive. Diagnostic visit is £99 inc VAT, refunded against the repair.
How much is a Vaillant repair?
Most Vaillant repairs land between £120 and £380 inc VAT depending on the part. Diverter valve cartridges and pressure sensors are at the lower end; gas valves and PCBs at the top. You get a fixed price before we start.
Is Vaillant better than Worcester?
They're both strong. Worcester tends to have quicker local parts availability and the best UK service network, which is why we fit it. Vaillant modulates a little better at low load. Neither is a mistake.
Will repairing my Vaillant void the guarantee?
No, as long as the work is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer using approved parts and recorded properly. We record every visit.
