Ravenheat is a Leeds-based manufacturer whose CSI and LS combis were fitted widely in rental property through the 1990s and 2000s. We still see a fair number across the Black Country.
They're basic, serviceable units, but most surviving Ravenheats are now well past twenty years old and running at efficiencies that cost their owners real money every winter.

What goes wrong with Ravenheat boilers
Ignition and electrode faults
Very common with age. Electrodes and leads are relatively cheap.
Diverter valve failure
Heating comes on when you run a tap, or hot water goes lukewarm.
Pressure loss
Aged expansion vessels are the usual cause on units this old.
Heat exchanger blockage
Decades of sludge. Frequently the point where replacement wins.

Repair or replace
Our honest view
Most Ravenheats we attend are twenty-plus years old and non-condensing. We'll repair them where it's cheap and safe, but we'll be straight with you: a new condensing boiler typically cuts gas use meaningfully on a system that old.
Worcester Bosch Greenstar or Viessmann Vitodens, with the system flushed, a magnetic filter fitted and up to a 12-year guarantee registered in your name.

Do you still repair Ravenheat boilers?
Where parts are available and the boiler is safe, yes. On very old CSI units we'll advise you honestly if we think it's throwing good money after bad.
Is my old Ravenheat safe?
Any boiler that's still passing a gas safety and combustion check is safe to run. If we find anything unsafe we'll tell you immediately and, where required, isolate it.
