Toilet won't flush?
Press the handle and nothing happens, or it only half flushes? Nine times out of ten it's a snapped link, worn flush valve or a cistern that isn't filling.
Try the free checks below — if it's still not working, we can usually fix it in one visit with parts from the van.

Checks you can safely do yourself
Lift the cistern lid
Check the handle is still connected to the lever or chain. A broken link or unhooked chain is a two-minute fix.
Is the cistern full?
If the water is low, the isolation valve on the pipe may be turned off — turn the screw slot in line with the pipe.
Push-button flush
Twist the button off and check the cable or rods haven't come loose from the valve underneath.
Check for a blockage
If the bowl fills up instead of emptying, it's a blockage, not a flush fault — see our blocked toilet page.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to fix a toilet that won't flush?
Most flush repairs cost £95–£190 inc VAT including parts. We confirm the price before starting.
Can you fix a concealed cistern?
Yes. We carry common Geberit, Siamp and Viva parts and access through the flush plate where possible.
Should I replace the whole toilet?
Rarely. Replacing the internal parts is almost always cheaper unless the pan or cistern is cracked.
